OUR STORY

The National Academy of Audit and Accounts (NAAA), Shimla, traces its origins to 1950, when it was established to train officers of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS). Originally known as the Training School for IA&AS, the Academy has since undergone significant evolution in both its mandate and infrastructure, reflecting the changing landscape of public administration and governance in India.

Located in the picturesque hill town of Shimla, the Academy provides a unique learning environment, combining academic rigor with the serene ambiance of its surroundings. Over the decades, NAAA has emerged as a premier institution dedicated to capacity-building in the fields of public finance, accounting, and audit, helping civil servants address the complexities of governance with precision and accountability.

The Academy has kept pace with time by integrating technology, modern pedagogical techniques, and global best practices into its training programs. Through its rich history, NAAA has been instrumental in shaping IA&AS officers who play a critical role in ensuring fiscal transparency, effective financial management, and good governance in India.

As it marks 75 years of existence, NAAA celebrates its legacy of excellence while renewing its commitment to fostering innovation, ethical governance, and the professional development of civil servants. The journey of NAAA is a testament to its enduring relevance in India's governance framework and its dedication to nation-building.
